what's up

don't know exactly whats going on with blogger, but for some reason it won't upload pix. even from the computer, much less a usb port.
well maybe i'll get it figured out soon.

Yesterday was hell at work, SOmeone also pointed out we have a full moon coming up on MOn feb 25, well crazies are out already.

This week I sewed some pillow covers for David's theatre room,- comic book themed as well as covers for his tables. they do look great in the man cave.

this weekend I am going to try & start a quilt this one will be a breast cancer quilt that I make.(mom made me one a few years ago) I found this pattern at Mary Jo's (cloth store) & bought most of the material there. this is the plan as of right now anyways. David is working all weekend so this will give me Rhonda time. lol
He did help me get a book shelf moved out of our bedroom & the card table back in
so I could put the sewing machine back up.
I also use this table for painting too. but right now I feel like sewing more than painting.
I did get a few stitchy projects done , will post pix when able.LOL
as well as pix of the things I made for David.

Hope we all have a great weekend.
it is supposed to be raining her today(fri)& Sat so inside sewing will be best

Blog Hop #15- needles

The blogging prompt for hop #15 is:
How many needles have you lost? Feel free to estimate. Tell us your best “lost needle” story

Lost- not to many that I don't find lol
However a couple weekends ago- I was sitting in my bed stitching. & I lost a needle
you should of seen me, feeling the bed down, trying to find it I was even 'tossing' the sheets up to see what would fall off. Then I decided I hadn't lost it, I never threaded the needle etc. I got off the bed, went to the bathroom ,& when I came back, LOOKING at me on the floor(next to the bed) was that little needle & thread.
who knows if I dropped it then or earlier. but I was so glad I found it.

I more or less break needles or they get to feeling' grity' & I have to trash them.
trash gets alot of my needles. lol

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Caring about something bigger than yourself is a time-tested way to add meaning and satisfaction to life. Find a cause that inspires you, and commit to doing something to help. Volunteer for an organization you cherish. Commit your time to a worthy cause. Donate to a charity that's important to you.

Close your eyes and ask yourself: What really matters to me? What's worth taking time from my busy life to support? Open your eyes and write down the cause that inspires you. Now, find a way to help.

DAILY QUOTE“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” — Helen Keller

Blog HOp #15

Eventually there comes a time when you’re not feeling well, whether it’s the flu or a cold or something else entirely. The question is, do you manage any stitching when you’re under the weather or does it just have to wait for better days?

When I am usually sick, I don't stitch that much.but that also depends on what I am sick with.If its the flu - there is no way I am stitching. If I have a headache I can NOt stitch, because 9 times out of 10 my headache will turn into a migarne, esp when stitching. However after surgery I have stitched before.

GET DIRTY
Reconnect to Earth's most important resource - dirt. Dirt feeds us and gives us shelter. Dirt holds and cleans our water, heals us and makes us beautiful. Dirt is everywhere, yet most of us rarely notice it.

When you go outside today, reconnect to the earth. Grab some dirt and rub it in your hands. Experience its texture, temperature and color. Even smell it! For more dirty inspiration, watch Dirt on GaiamTV.com. This compelling film travels the world to meet communities who are repairing their relationship with dirt to create new possibilities for all life on Earth.

DAILY QUOTE“Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth find reserves of strength that will endure as long as life lasts.” — Rachel Carson

Really can't wait til it warms up so I can get outside to get dirty.
I have missed my garden for the past 2 years & I am so ready to do yardwork..

Connect 2 Happiness Day 27

LOVE NOTES
In October 2010, Hannah Brencher started placing anonymous love letters around New York City as a way to ease her loneliness. The letters were placed in libraries, cafes and coat pockets. In one year, she handwrote over 400 notes that healed her heart and uplifted the spirits of over 400 strangers. Brechner's actions inspired a worldwide movement of spreading love and happiness through written word.

Join Hannah's cause, The World Needs More Love Letters by handwriting a love letter. Put it into a library book, on a park bench, or anywhere a stranger may find it. Your handwritten words will bring you satisfaction, knowing that you brought a ray of sunshine to someone's day. We're starting “love fest” on facebook today! Share your love letter with the GaiamTV.com community.

DAILY QUOTE“I have an interest in keeping that passion for letter writing aflame, not because it means stationery or stamps stick around longer, but because it means we are still spending time on one another in a world where we move from thing to thing so quickly.” — Hannah Brencher

GO GREEN
As humans, we are stewards, dependents and users of Earth's fragile resources and ecosystems. By helping to care for our planet, we promote global prosperity and well-being. Every action helps, big and small: Conserving water, picking up litter, riding a bike, carpooling, riding public transportation, and using reusable grocery bags are all ways of caring for Mother Earth.

For more tips on building a greener life, visit Gaiam's guide to sustainable living.

SUPPORT YOUR COMMUNITY
There are many social and environmental benefits to keeping your purchasing power local. By supporting independently-owned and local businesses, you're also supporting community groups, reducing environmental impact, and investing in your community. Encouraging local prosperity with your dollar not only makes you feel good, it makes the community feel good.

Think globally. Buy locally.

DAILY QUOTE“Anything else you're interested in is not going to happen if you can't breathe the air and drink the water. Don't sit this one out. Do something.” Carl Sagan

There is now a lady that sells natural soaps etc here - @ the local farmers market- can't wait for it to re open.
I am also thinking of taking some classes - art classes at a local shop. I think it would be fun.

BIG HUG
A good hug is like a handshake from the heart. Sharing a hug with someone is an easy way to communicate happiness, love, approval, gratitude and forgiveness, without ever saying a word.

Today, spread the love with a hug. Give a friend a good squeeze and tell them how much you appreciate them. For some inspiration, check out Amma, India's “hugging saint,” in Amma: Healing the Heart of the World.

SPREAD THE LOVE
Next time you roll out your mat for yoga or meditation, dedicate your practice to a friend in need of some good energy. At the beginning of your practice, visualize a bright warm light streaming from your heart to your friend's heart, sending love and positive energy their way.
